At Orontes, our mission is to offer a healthy yogurt that promotes your wellbeing while supporting fair trade with our local farmers. We are dedicated to crafting high-quality, nutritious, and delicious yogurt using simple ingredients– rich in natural whey protein and A2A2 beta-casein. By partnering with local farmers who share our values, we ensure ethical sourcing, sustainability, and a commitment to wholesome, unstrained yogurt that nourishes both people and communities.
A Tradition of Rich Flavor
At Orontes Yogurt, our journey is as rich and authentic as the flavors we craft, each spoonful echoing a vibrant culinary heritage and dedication to nutrient-rich, naturally delicious products. Our founder, Murat Hokka, grew up in Antioch, a mountain village on the banks of the Orontes River in Turkey (Turkiye). A descendant of the ancient Yoruk peoples, Turkish nomads who bred livestock, he learned the rich, time-honored traditions of his people.



After becoming a renowned chef and bringing his skill with Mediterranean cuisine to the United States, Murat’s passion for food and desire to share his culinary traditions with the world only grew. But he regularly struggled to find a yogurt with the smooth texture and rich flavor that he enjoyed in his youth.

Recalling his childhood in a small Turkish village, Murat knew that in order to craft a better yogurt, you must start with a better milk. In his spare time, he began to search for a better breed of cow, whose milk would be the foundation of a yogurt like he remembered. Murat discovered the milk of the Jersey cow, and when he tasted his creation, the flavor instantly transported him to the mountain village of his youth.
Undo Standardization. Unleash a New Standard of Dairy
Over the last four decades “big dairy” has increasingly standardized milk production, flooding the market with cheap, diluted milk at the expense of small farms and the rich, delicious milk they produce. We’re here to unleash “better milk” to a generation who missed out on what dairy was like before processing that made milk look and taste the same.
